Planning and booking
What does Peak Events do?
Peak Events is a corporate events company based in Bamford, in the Hope Valley in the Peak District. We plan and deliver team building days, offsite meetings, leadership development programmes and challenge events for businesses, sports teams, charities and public sector organisations, in the Peak District and throughout the UK.
How many people can you cater for?
We work with groups of 8 to 80+ people. Some activities suit smaller groups, such as Cryptic Challenge (4 to 24 people) and Nuclear Fallout (8 to 18 people), while Capture The Flag works for 8 to 80 people. For larger groups we can run several activities side by side.
How much does a team building day cost?
Every event is quoted individually, because the price depends on your group size, the activities you choose, how long the event runs and whether you need venues, accommodation or catering. Send us a few details and we'll come back with a tailored proposal, usually within 24 hours.
How far in advance should we book?
The sooner the better, especially for spring and summer dates and for events that need accommodation or a meeting venue. Get in touch as soon as you have rough dates and numbers and we'll check availability.
How do we get started?
Fill in our enquiry form or call us on 01433 424164. Tell us roughly how many people, when, and what you'd like the day to achieve. We'll reply, usually within 24 hours, with ideas and a proposal. There's no obligation.
Can you tailor an event to our objectives?
Yes. Every event is bespoke. We design it around what you want to achieve, whether that's improving communication, integrating a new team, developing leaders, rewarding your people or simply giving everyone a brilliant day out.
Activities and the day
What team building activities do you offer?
Our most popular team building days are Capture The Flag, Nuclear Fallout, Cryptic Challenge and Fresh Air Meetings. Through our sister company Pure Outdoor we can also add climbing, abseiling, caving, navigation and mountain biking.
How long does a team building activity last?
Anything from a couple of hours to a full day. As a guide, Cryptic Challenge runs for 2 to 3 hours, Capture The Flag for 3 to 5 hours, Nuclear Fallout for 5 to 7 hours and Fresh Air Meetings for 2 to 7 hours. We can fit an activity around a morning or afternoon of meetings.
Do we need to be fit or outdoorsy?
No. All of our events can be adapted for mixed fitness levels and abilities, and you don't need any outdoor experience. You just need to turn up. Tell us about your group when you enquire and we'll recommend the right activities.
Is it safe?
Yes. All of our events are fully facilitated by experienced, qualified instructors and are fully risk-assessed. Outdoor activities are delivered through our sister company Pure Outdoor, which has run climbing, caving, navigation and mountain biking in the Peak District since 2006.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Our events run in most weather, and we plan every day with the conditions in mind. If the forecast is poor we'll adapt the activity or the route so your day still works. We'll talk you through the options before your event.
What should people wear?
Comfortable clothes you can move in, sturdy footwear and a waterproof jacket are usually all you need. We'll confirm exactly what to bring for your event beforehand.
Offsites and venues
Can you organise an offsite meeting with a team building activity?
Yes, it's one of the things we do most. We combine a meeting venue, a team building activity, catering and accommodation into one package, so your team can work in the morning and get outdoors in the afternoon. See our offsite meetings.
Can you arrange accommodation, catering and meeting rooms?
Yes. We work with hotels, venues and local providers across the Peak District and beyond to arrange accommodation, meeting facilities and catering for groups of all sizes and budgets, from hotel dinners to picnic pack-ups in the hills.
Can you arrange transport for our team?
Yes. We're a Blacklane partner, so we can book chauffeur-driven cars for station and airport transfers, senior team arrivals and travel between your hotel, meeting venue and activity. For larger groups we also arrange coaches and minibuses, so everyone arrives together and on time.
Where are your events held?
Most events take place in the Peak District National Park, which is on our doorstep. We also run events throughout the UK, and we organise international offsites.
How do we get to you?
We're based at The Adventure Hub, Hope Valley Garden Centre, Hope Road, Bamford, S33 0AL. Bamford station is on the scenic Hope Valley line between Sheffield and Manchester, and the Peak District is within easy reach of Sheffield, Manchester, Derby, Nottingham and Leeds.
Leadership and challenge events
Do you run leadership development programmes?
Yes. We run outdoor leadership development programmes, from single days to multi-day residentials, that put people in real situations where they have to lead, decide and communicate under pressure.
Can you organise a charity or corporate challenge event?
Yes. We design and deliver challenge events for businesses and charities, including routes, waymarking, guiding, accommodation and catering. For example, every year we plan and deliver the GBG Challenge, a multi-activity event held in a different part of the UK. Challenge events usually work best for groups of 20 or more.
Who have you worked with?
We've worked with businesses from fast-growing startups to FTSE-listed companies, as well as NHS trusts, sports clubs, charities and public sector organisations. Clients and partners include BP, JLR, Red Bull, the BBC, GBG and Breedon. Read our case studies.
Good to know
How far is the Peak District from Manchester, Sheffield and Leeds?
We're in Bamford, in the Hope Valley. Bamford station is on the Hope Valley line, about 20 minutes by train from Sheffield and around an hour from Manchester Piccadilly. Leeds, Nottingham, Derby and Birmingham are all within about one and a half to two hours by car, and London is around two hours by train to Sheffield. We can arrange transfers from the station, and executive cars or coaches through our transport partners.
What makes Peak Events different from other team building companies?
We only do events for businesses and organisations, and every event is designed around what you want your team to get out of the day. Our signature activities (Capture The Flag, Nuclear Fallout, Cryptic Challenge and Fresh Air Meetings) are our own, run by experienced facilitators and finished with a proper debrief. We also handle the venue, meeting room, accommodation, catering and transport, so you have one point of contact. Our outdoor delivery is backed by our sister company Pure Outdoor, which has been running activities in the Peak District since 2006.
Can you run team building for large groups of 100 or more?
Yes. For large groups we run several activities side by side, or design a challenge event around the whole group. In 2026 we delivered GBG's Challenge Festival for 140 people, with five walking, running and biking routes, an abseil and a festival weekend at Thornbridge Outdoors. Read the case study.
Can we do a half-day team building activity?
Yes. Cryptic Challenge runs for 2 to 3 hours and Capture The Flag for 3 to 5 hours, so either fits around a morning or afternoon of meetings. A popular format is a meeting in the morning, lunch, then an activity in the afternoon, with dinner and an overnight stay if you want one.
What's included in a Peak Events team building day?
Planning the day around your objectives, experienced facilitators and instructors, all the equipment, risk assessments, a briefing at the start and a debrief at the end. On top of that we can add a meeting venue, food, accommodation, transport and a leadership development session, all in one proposal.
Which venues do you work with?
We work with hotels and venues across the Peak District, from country-house hotels to inns and outdoor centres. Recent client events have used The Maynard in Grindleford, Losehill House Hotel & Spa in the Hope Valley, Bike & Boot Inns and Thornbridge Outdoors. We'll recommend venues that suit your group size, budget and agenda.
Is Peak Events suitable for a senior or leadership team offsite?
Yes. Senior teams often choose Fresh Air Meetings for strategy conversations in the open air, or Nuclear Fallout for groups of 8 to 18. You can also add a leadership development session, where an expert facilitator joins your team during the activity and then turns what happened into actions for the business.
Can people with limited mobility or lower fitness take part?
Usually, yes. Our activities can be adapted for mixed fitness levels and abilities, and there are roles that don't involve much walking. Let us know about anyone with mobility needs, injuries or pregnancy when you enquire and we'll plan the day so everyone can take part.
Do you run events all year round?
Yes. We run events throughout the year and plan each one around the season, the daylight and the forecast. Spring and summer dates book up first, so it's worth getting in touch early if you have a date in mind.
