Clear Business wanted a day away from the office that did two jobs: give the team proper time to focus on strategy, and bring people closer together. They asked us for a meeting room, an afternoon team activity, dinner and a bed for the night.
One venue, the whole day
We based the day at Losehill House Hotel & Spa in the Hope Valley, using a 24-hour delegate package so the meeting, lunch, dinner and overnight stay were all in one place. Nobody had to think about logistics, which left the team free to focus on each other.
- 10am to 1pm: strategy meeting, with a working buffet lunch
- 1.45pm to 5.15pm: Capture the Flag in the Peak District
- 6pm: debrief
- 8pm: dinner and an overnight stay at Losehill House
Capture the Flag after a morning in the meeting room
After a morning of strategy, the team went outdoors. Capture the Flag is quick to pick up, but it soon brings out planning, communication and a bit of healthy competition. Our facilitators, Gavin and Rachel, pushed the group out of its comfort zone while keeping it supportive and fun.
The debrief and dinner came straight after, while the stories from the afternoon were still fresh, and that is where the connections made outdoors carried on into the evening.
